Unique Ways to Remember a Loved One That Passed

Unique Ways to Remember a Loved OneWhen a loved one passes away, we are left with memories that last forever. Still, we want to find creative ways to remember them and celebrate their life. Here are a few of our favorite unique ways to remember a loved one that passed and assure that their legacy lives on forever.

Celebrate Forever

Another of our favorite unique ways to remember a loved one that passed is to set a special memory in stone. My Day Registry offers statewide, national and international holidays. Recognize the day of their birth or for spouses, purchase the day of your first summer’s kiss. The program offers a beautifully framed certificate of authenticity with purchase that can be hung above the mantle or on the patio of their favorite back porch rocking spot. You also receive editor’s access to your own web page for adding favorite photographs, stories and thoughts for friends to share.

Creative Donations

If your loved one passed from an illness such as cancer, give in their honor. Donate to local children’s hospitals that will help support little ones battling the same illness. If you want to be more hands on, consider purchasing gifts and visiting children’s hospitals on the weekends to hand them out. Not only will you be paying it forward, you will develop friendships that will help you heal. If you can’t afford to donate, choose to give of your time. It can be even more valuable. Read a story to a sick child. Befriend a nursing home resident with no family. You’ll help yourself by helping others in the process.

Man’s Best Friend

Furry friends are a constant source of enduring love. Purchase a new pet but this time . . . let the pet pick you. Psychics believe that animals can sense energy and emotion. When you stop by to see a new litter of pups, the pup that gives you the most attention is probably the best fit. Name the pet after a wonderful memory. If your loved one adored The King, name your pet Elvis. If they were a flower gardener name it “Lily”. A cute name for vegetable gardener’s pup? “Tater.”

Plant a Garden

One of our favorite unique ways to remember a loved one that passed is to plant a garden in their honor. Plant cheerful hydrangeas, sunflowers and bright peonies. Make the space a place where you can celebrate and remember happy memories. Purchase an old bench and give it a fresh coat of paint. Finish it off with freehand ladybugs or butterflies for another sunny reminder of happy moments.

Sometimes finding unique ways to remember a loved one that passed not only creates an outlet for remembrance but also for celebration and healing. One of the steps to healing is learning to celebrate life, not mourning death. Death occurs one day out of many. Life is a wonderful collage of wonderful years, laughter-filled days and smiles spent together over a cup of tea. Choose to celebrate life and no matter how you choose to remember, their legacy will live on inside your heart forever.

Thanks so much for posting this original and unique article. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve visited blogs from Google and they’ve got nothing on them but crappy ads and false information that’s unereliable. I don’t normally comment on blogs, but I just thought that i’d drop you a line and tell you that I think you’re doing a fantastic job.
